Meet the spa manager
We all want to know as much as possible about where we're going and who we are going to meet while we are there - that's why we thought you would enjoy finding out a bit more about the lady who ensures your visit to the Verbena Spa is as relaxing and rejuvenating as possible! Meet Lisa Batty, our very own Spa Manager.
Lisa grew up in Dunnington, York, and after studying for a history degree in Nottingham, she went on to gain an Msc in International Hospitality Management at Leeds Metropolitan University. This led her to a fantastic first role at gorgeous Gleneagles in Scotland, where she worked in a variety of food and beverage departments before joining us at the Feversham in December 2007. With her experience and enthusiasm, we are so glad she did!
Lisa started in our restuarant and then moved into front of house, where she learnt more about the operational side of the hotel, ensuring she was brilliantly prepared for becoming Spa Manager shortly after it opened in October 2008.
In her spare time (and there isn't much of that)! Lisa enjoys eating out, trying new restaurants and wines and loves visiting Scotland so she tries to get back up there as often as she can.
Asked why she enjoyed her role, Lisa says:-
" I'm really lucky to be the manager of the Verbena Spa as I work in such a wonderful environment. I make sure I visit different spas to try a variety of treatments - all in the name of research of course! I also love the area, we are so fortunate to have lots of moorland and beautiful countryside around us that in itself makes relaxing very easy indeed."
