We are nestled in the beautiful market town of Helmsley in the North Yorkshire Moors, within easy reach of York, Teeside, Harrogate and Leeds.
By Car
We're around three quarters of an hour from York, Harrogate and Teesside and about 55 minutes from Leeds.
Driving directions from Yarm.
Follow the A19 for roughly 15 miles, then take the A61 / A170 exit. Follow the A170 and signs to Helmsley for approximately 16 miles. Total journey distance around 31 miles.
Driving directions from Middlesbrough.
Take the B1365 and then the B1257. Follow B1257 for approximately 25 miles and you will reach Helmsley. Approximate journey distance 25 miles - and journey time around 45 - 50 minutes. An alternative route can be found via the A19 above.
Driving Directions from Harrogate.
Leave Harrogate on the A59 Knaresborough Road and then turn right through Knaresborough. At the roundabout turn left onto the A59 and at the next roundabout turn left onto A1M North. Exit at J49, A19 / A168 towards Thirsk for approximately 7 miles. Exit at A170 junction. Follow A170 for approximately 16 miles up Sutton Bank and on to Helmsley. Approximate journey distance, 38 miles and journey time around 45 to 50 minutes.
Driving Directions from Leeds.
Take the A64 out of Leeds City Centre and follow signs for York. After around 9 miles, turn left at the roundabout and take A1M North for approximately 21 miles. Exit A1M at Junction 49 and A19 / A168 and follow to Thirsk. Exit at A170 and follow to Helmsley. Total journey distance approximately 55 miles, approximate journey time 55 minutes to 1 hour.
By Rail
East Coast Mainline stations are at York (nearest) and Darlington. Pick ups from both stations can be arranged. Taxis are always available outside the station.
By Air
Several international and domestic carriers fly into Teesside (nearest) and Leeds/Bradford (60 minutes).
Pick-ups from both airports can be arranged.
There is also a small private airfield at Bagby, just 10 minutes from Helmsley.
Helicopters can land in the grounds of Duncombe Park, just a few minutes stroll from the hotel.
Parking:
We have plenty of car park spaces available for all Verbena Spa guests in our purpose built underground secure car park. Direct access from the car park by lift to the reception of the spa and the Feversham Arms Hotel reception too.
